Training goblins

Will goblins get strong via swimming lessons?  I don't recall if the 'can't get strong from swimming' was just for fish, or for all creatures.

On the item is an exceptionally designed image of a diamond in yellow diamond.

Goblins have [SWIMS_LEARNED], which means that they will learn to swim as they spend time in water and will gain stats.

The "can't get strong from swimming" only applies to creatures with [SWIMS_INNATE], where it prevents them from gaining Swimming experience and thus prevents them from gaining stats from it.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

What would you be training Goblins for? :O  Sounds like a "flood the world" or an embark as goblins mod.

It might be training up kidnapped goblins to make stronger training victims (or some other purposes). I know I've contemplated doing the same to berserked elven traders to use as a weapon, though I don't think siegers, captured or not, can go berserk.

Well, I want to take a large number of caged goblins, and train them up stupidly high, say, 7-10 years worth of swimming.  Then see just how long it will take my crossbow dwarves to shoot them down.  Or have them individually take on my entire army.  That sort of thing.

Mostly 'cause I can.

So you're going to send them on a quest to gain untold power just so you can take it away from them and kill them, thereby showing them just how insignificant they really are...
