My mother's side is Welsh, my father's side is a mix of German, Scandinavian, and probably some other stuff too.

It depends how far back you want to go.

Norman-french/Viking/Saxon would probably be the best description, my family's lived here for a long time.

I've got recent blood from Ireland, Scotland, England (London specifically), Germany. and an as of yet undetermined Native American tribe. My grandmama on one side was an Irish immigrant with a Scottish dad, who married my grandpama, an English immigrant, during the WW2 era. My grandpapa was Native American, and went over seas to fight in WW2 (My other grandpa was disabled at the time). He found and married my grandmapa near the German border, after she fled with her family.

Sweet as hell thing. Tracing my grandmas Irish roots back, her great-great-grandpa was cousin to an Irish noble, and for a while he shared the same crest and was an assistant to the noble. After a while, the noble shunned him from the family, and shortly thereafter the peasantry revolted and killed everyone who had that crest. My relative had dropped the crest, so he was safe from the killings. After that, they put three red rings across the crest, which I'm told is the 'f you' of heraldry, and changed the Latin motto so that it translated to "An un-desirable folk". Pretty badass that my whole line was in jeapordy like that.

You know the guys that don't have skin anywhere on their body, but HAIR?

99% of your great grandparents died from Trees, the rest saved some money by switching to Geico.

Like a lot of Americans, I'm a little bit of everything (everything white anyway), and my family's oral history of ancestry only goes back four generations, to whichever group of broke-ass farmers came from the Old Country.

My mother's family history is somewhat documented, mostly Polish and Scottish, but also some sprigs of Irish and Swedish, and at least one traceable line back to an Englishman who arrived in Connecticut in 1660.

My father's side is much more murky, but mostly draws from Danish and Caddo Indian, and maybe Italian.

What does all that add up to?  A blue-eyed white devil with no freckles and lanky Prussian features.  Also, I have absolutely no family traditions or meaningful ancestry/treasures.  The closest things to heirlooms I have are a T-Shirt from 1976 and some really old photographs of people whom no one can identify.

Half-Portuguese, half-American. the American side goes back a few generations to Germanic roots. The result is a pseudo-spanish look of the right facial features but lacking the darkened skin. Then again, the Portuguese are basically Spanish Italians.

My father has tried to use culture food, but I think he's an under-average cook and doesn't want to admit it. There are a lot of Eastern influences on our church, so we have more Korean food than a good 90% of white people(Europe included). And don't get me started on how freaked out people were when they saw me bowing to my parents.

Make that a green-eyed white devil and we are in the same boat.  Family traditions are for chumps.

Apparently my ancestors were Irish immigrants to Australia, with some Maori stuff on my mother's side.
