Generating a Terrifying Desert World

Does anyone know a way to generate a world with lots of terrifying deserts with volcanoes and aquifers?

setting the minimum temp to around 70 and the maximum rainfall to something low would give you deserts, then just up the minimum volcanism for more volcanoes/magma

Deserts are based on rainfall and drainage.   Lower drainage gives you sand deserts.  Higher drainage gives you wastelands.  Temperature can only turn it into a tundra or glacier if sufficently low.  Although one thing to be aware of, without hills/plains you won't get humans and without forests you won't get elves.  Mountains are required for dwarves and goblins.

You need to make said elf leather into the most amazing work of art.  Embed it with every kind of gem you have, stud it with metals, and sew images into it.  Erect a shrine outside your fort with that in the center.  Let the elves know that you view their very skin as naught more but a medium for your dwarves to work on.

Here's one.  It's not the entire world but there is some choice of sites.  I even remembered to include the seeds this time.  :)

The name seems oddly fitting.

Thanks!  I'll try this out.  Thanks for the tips about drainage/temperature.  I didn't even think of that!

That world seems oddly to have many volcanoes. How high did you set volcanism to?

The volcanism is normal.  The key change is:

[VOLCANO_MIN:300]

Credit for this is due to Kulantan.   :)
