Do the glowing pits at the bottom of the demon chamber act like a chasm, i.e. an infinite drain? I know it wouldn't work on frog demons, but if I had SoF or tentacle demons, could I deal with them by flooding the chambers with water?

I know there could be some less than desirable consequences in the form of washing away otherwise-useable ash if it happens to get knocked down into the pits, and all those lovely engravings in the tentacle-demon pits would be ruined by mud, but could I deal with the demons and write that off as an acceptable loss, and then let the water drain out the bottom once I saw the corpses pile up?

I'd specifically be thinking that the access used to dig the place out is sealed by a raised bridge once the miner runs out, and the water comes in through a channel in the floor above with no physical access to anyone who can't swim, to keep them from getting to the pump and knocking it apart.

Aww, that's a shame. Seems like it should work, and also seems like a suitably dwarven solution, if you just use ENOUGH water.

Thanks, though. Guess that makes the spike trap corridor linked to the repeater a decent way to go for all of them.

My solution is to give your champions adamantine armor and weapons.

The direct route is the dwarven way!

If you do open the pits, I suggest you have a backup area for your a few civilians to survive in case you are overwhelmed by the lords of the underworld.

Orthoclase is Microcline's younger, but often un-noticed yellow brother.
Sort of like Mario and Luigi, but with blue and yellow.
