This thread is now about Hawkfrost taking over the world.

I said nothing of the sort.  ::)

But, if by any small chance it might arise, I would need to know what would be an adequate amount of power to do said thing.

The Union army never had to worry about Jackson burning New York to the ground, no?
That was Robert E. Lee, actually. The southern general, that is.

Though America has lost a war against Canada. (War of 1812?)
It was actually Britain at the time, and I would say that both sides won. America got Britain to stop stealing its ships and sailors, and Britain burnt Washington DC.

Grant burning the entire state of Georgia to the ground?  Not really, no, but we're splitting hairs here.
That would be Sherman.

Anyways, what is the general opinion of countries with no official armies? (Andorra, New Zealand, etc)

Too small to bother destroying for their carelessness.

Andorra is technically protected by the combined forces of Spain and France. If Andorra was attacked by one of these countries, would the other have to defend it?

It's probably already dealt with in the treaty that says they have to protect Andorra.

Actually, I was thinking Stonewall. Sherman wasn't the overall commander when he bbqed Georgia, so it makes sense that it'd be someone other that Lee as well.

I just had a whoa moment.
We have people talking about Andorra and the Confederacy in this thread.
Back in 1993-1997 I was a Wing Commander fan, and i had joined the Wing Commander Aces group online.
Their fan-fic/RPG involved Andorra (fan-fic interstellar nation) and Confed (cannon interstellar nation).
I am probably the only one here who knows what the hell I am babbling about. Anyway, carry on.

Excuse me. New Zealand DOES have an official army. We've even got an Air Force and Navy too. They're just too small to be useful in a practical defence situation. It's not our fault the US's spending on defence is probably larger than our entire GDP :P

You don't need numbers for world domination. You need skillz that killz. Inflitration, make everyone think they're a nation of their own, but secretly have everyone work for one guy. Namely santa claus.

Back on topic, did you know that Iceland spends a whopping 0% of their national GDP on their army? And also, that the British SAS train American Navy Seals? And I surely hope that if war were to break out, the UK and europe will gang together and become unstoppable with our EUROFIGHTER! The plane that was so powerful they had to remove the front nose cannon because it causing such recoil it'd shake the plane apart. To replace it they put some lead weight in the front to counter the lack of heavies.

you mean the plane that crashed to the ground as often as it did not?

BTW: My geography and politics are quite weak, so I might be wrong, but last time I checked the UK was part of Europe
