or

fight a clandestine war with a cult or assasins group across multiple fortresses and towns

or

I'll mod the game so that I can play as a spirit of fire, hang out on someone's roof all day and then burn the house down when they come in to sleep.

Okay, how many nonviolent suggestions have we actually had?

Besides the soapmaker?

And even he will have to kill animals to get the fat to make the soap.

Actually.

I don't think it's possible to be "non-violent" whilst playing Dwarf Fortress.

I would be humble about things. Get a home for myself. And by "home" I mean underwater cast-obsidian palace that I made myself, and "for myself" means me and a band of murderers who take women and children and play tennis with them. And "tennis" means hitting the living bodies of the prisoners across a magma pool court for a game I invent. The husband tries to kill me, I'll play tennis with him. Just average citizen life here.

I'll become a blacksmith and dig my own ore.  My swords and armour will be the envy of all the world.  I'll also recruit some peasants and teach them how to fight. But while doing that I will build an outpost for us. That is my dream.

Once booze becomes a liquid (and not an item) I'd like to make a lake of booze.

Introduce fire man.

Take a level or two in assorted metalworking skils, save up for a small army of mercenaries, raid goblin forts and pay for my campaigns by selling ornaments made from their melted-down armour.

First, I'd look in the Legends for any wars, and pick the side that's losing. See if I can play as a prince if possible. Then I'd recruit several NPCs and go around taking back towns that have been captured, recruiting the enemy's slaves and maybe some of the enemies themselves in the process. Once all of my civilization's towns were in the right hands again, I'd go on a sidequest to get an artifact weapon. With that done, I'd take my army into the enemy territory, eventually killing the civilization leader (hopefully a megabeast) in a one-on-one battle using my new weapon.

Finally, I'd put the world back into worldgen and repeat the process a few years later.

It IS a liquid.  If you spill it on the floor, it makes a puddle.  Just it cannot flow, and you don't get the numbers think like with water and magma.
