is it possible to get rid of mud on my floor?

after a quick accident involving the flooding of my dining hall after i pulled the wrong lever my dining room is now brown is there a way to make it gray again?

If you haven't smoothed the floors yet, smoothing them will get rid of the mud.

If you place a building on it, the mud will get removed. Statues work nicely for this (since they can be placed outdoors), though tables and chairs will work as well. Animal traps can be placed anywhere, including on ramps and stairs.

It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Pretty sure that's a no.

It won't even damage engravings, making it the only method to remove mud from detailed floors.
