Lights Out is a variant where you can make as many lynches as you like within one day. They will all be lynched simultaniously, so you will only know their roles at twilight. Oh, and I'll be using a good selection of roles-You can be anything that comes from this link. I'll use 11 town roles, 4 scum roles and one neutral role.

We will be playing hammers. When we reach a hammer, the person hammered will be put up to lynch and you can lynch another person. When you no-lynch, all those who are supposed to be lynched get lynched and the day ends. Simple!

I've always been curious how this game will play out. 

A few things though:

1. What stops the town from just lynching everyone down in lylo?

2. Can the ones picked to lynch (but not lynched YET) still talk and vote?



As far as the roles, most are fine (yay, Princess!) but Governor I don't much like.  It tends to be anti-town when used by town, too powerful to give to scum, and can easily create a Confirmed Townie.  Usurper, I think, needs a check to avoid the "OMG I'm Usurper, lynch Litia, she's the Godfather!"  Perhaps require him to win with the mafia.  That'll make for an interesting mix: has to get one of his own killed but then can't let his buddies know and can't let that one mafia death result in a town win.

Overall it'll be an interesting experiment, especially if we can get a lot of people into it.

HOWEVER

Ah... d'oh, I forgot about that. Sorry, I'll modify in a second.

1. Scum. I'll place the hammer just over half, so that if there are, say, 4 townies and 3 scum, then they lynch a townie, they still need one of the votes from the scum to take the biscuit.

2. They can talk but they can't vote.

I like that idea of that version of the usurper. Now the usurper needs to kill the Godfather AND win with scum. Nice.

Between ExKirby and Pandar's explanation.. yah, I guess that'll work then. 

Recruiting mason I see you put in.. As is it's a confirmable townie WITH PM powers.  Since the game is based on more daylynches with fewer nights it's not EXTREMELY overpowered here.  Just know that you'll have to balance the roles and can't just put everything in there like in Paranormal.

i.e. If a Recruiting Mason is around, I'd put nonsane cops, quack docs, a princess, and a mafia role cop for sure as part of the setup. 

So the roles you have work.. but you'll need to do some good balancing when you start handing out the roles.

Funny thing is, the style of the game gives a little less power to the night roles, which is why I think one of the most overpowered roles-recruiting mason-can actually exist here.

But yes, balancing will be key to this game working.

In any case, since you have a standard setup you can use any role you wish technically.  It's all a matter of balancing them so that both sides have an equal chance.

According to ExKirby, no.  You can talk but you can't vote.
