The arsonist is a serial killer. He does his work via igniting everything. All evidence behind roles are nuked. However, all mafiosi have guns, which have been titanium-plated. Therefor, they will survive an Inferno.

The FBI-Well, there's an arsonist on the lose. Do you really think they'll let normal cops handle that? No. Regular cops will just find a random townie role. FBI will find "Arsonist".

The Phyciatrist-Well, this is the good part. Insead of killing off numbers, the Phyciatrist will examine and cure the Phyco flame-starter.

The firefighter-Well, SOMEONE needs to stop towering Infernos.

Hmm, so regular scum + arsonist.

I can see it. 

So they ruin the roleflip except for alignment (thus you know they were mafia or not).  I like the twist.

You don't need 3 roles against him though.  No need for FBI and I'm thinking Firefighter isn't necessary, since the town can already protect itself by just opting not to let the day to go night.  Phyciatrist I can see.  In fact, why not make the Phyc's win condition to cure the arsonist.  If the arsonist is cured, the Phyc wins and leaves while the arsonist is turned pro-town.  If the arsonist dies the Phyc turns into a regular townie with the town win condition.
