Here's a little something I wrote to tide you over for a week or so: (I'm almost done I swear)

    Erith stood on the top of a hill, Looking towards the dark tower he had just come out of. Of course it didn't look like that when he entered it, there were significantly less corpses and fire then.

    He had gone in with at least ten men and a seasoned adventurer, now only he remained. The good thing was that there would be less goblins terrorizing the surrounding countryside, the bad thing was that he was gravely wounded, and the nearest civilization was three days away; he would never make it in his condition.

    He had been completely willing to die when he signed up for it, he had been exiled from his  fortress. He had wandered the wilds for two years before an adventurer had recruited him. His only request was that if he were to fall, he would fall in battle. Now he was standing here, bleeding profusely from a stab wound to the shoulder, this wasn't how he wanted it to end.

    The wounded dwarf slowly walked away from his viewpoint on the hill and slumped down under a tree. He took off his right pauldron and  inspected his wound, it went straight through to the other side, he could see bone and muscle tissue. It didn't prevent movement at all, but any time he moved his arm the pain was unbearable.

    He thought it was nothing at the time, probably the result of all the adrenaline pumping through his system as his axe clove through thick green flesh, and finally the neck of a demon. Now he sat under the shade of a tree, looking at the beautiful landscape around him, bleeding to death, pain searing through his entire body.

    Slowly, the pain subsided, and he finally fell asleep.
