Is this normal?
« on: November 26, 2009, 06:05:44 pm »

I recently got a fortress working on its third year when a fire imp attacked and set my mechanic on fire, but he is not dying he isn't even hurt he took a nap on the brook and has no wounds. I don't know if the brook is keeping him alive or not, I know fire should be deadly because two caravan gaurds fell into my lava pit and died after seeing a fire imp. so what is going on?

EDIT: I converted him to a recruit to order him to stay in the brook and he bled to death.

It's possible you took a glance at him when he only had light grey wounds; those ones are hard to spot. The light grey text looks almost exactly like white.

Fire is deadly. Fireballs are hit-and-miss. The imp may have simply missed, or had the shot hit clothing and was absorbed.

Standing on top of a brook is the same as standing on dry land- they're a bit weird like that.

Not a clue why he bled to death, though.

Fire causes wounds. Wounds cause bleeding. Bleeding causes death.
Therefore, Fire causes bloody death.

He probably had the fire starting for a long time. Clothes may smolder for a loooooong time. But when it gets to the meat, the pain comes. I wonder why don't they just throw their clothes away though >.>.

It's pretty simple.
They're dorfs.

I meant that I didn't think he'd caught fire at all. I know that fire causes bleeding to death.
