Erm.  Sorry.  When PETA comes up without warning (in conversation or my thoughts), I can get a little odd.  Mostly I just had the urge to insult PETA.

There are other problems, too, in areas without rainforests.  Fecal matter from all the cows infecting the groundwater, or similar problems.  I hear one of the British Isles or one of its neighbors has a problem with something like.  Might have been Ireland, maybe Scotland.

Then, of course, it just isn't space-efficient in some other areas.

I am not sure if I posted it here or somewhere else. But I have something called the murder meal, the cruelest meal of all, one that requires the death of as many different kinds of animal while still being eatable by one person, delicious and balanced.

BBQ rabbit, a sandwich with slices of ham, turkey and deer, a side of brocoli (because it has a central nervous system and responds to "pain"), tuna salad, with jello for desert (the old fashioned kind made from cow joints).

My bread is somewhat bland, only requiring the death of yeast. And I am not sure what a good drink would be that involves killing a different kind of animal (eggnog perhaps?).

Since you mention it, on thing I've always thought funny was how some people say they don't eat meat because vegatables can't feel pain, and thus don't cry out.  But it's not that fact alone that's funny.  It's this:  Vegetables may not cry out in pain when eaten or cut up, but brussel sprouts sure do scream when microwaved.

Some plants have central nervous systems (of a sort) and respond to stimulation, even communicate. We are talking primitive here, a fly or slug would be a genius compared to them. There is a species of shrub in australia that produces a chemical signal when it is cut or crushed, other nearby shrubs of the same kind will respond to this signal by producing a bitter chemical.

I would have to do fact checking to be sure that broccoli is one of them, i have heard it is.

however some of them do have cells that perform the exact same function, to me that is close enough. Its like saying that you are not really talking to someone over the phone because the vibrations don't pass directly from your vocal chords to the other persons ears through the air, instead they are converted to electro-magnetic vibrations in a copper wire for part of the distance.
