Don't know about that, big Hindus must be freak occurrences. It's no coincidence that the regions where the tallest people live (Netherlands and Dinarids) are also the regions where dairy products consumption is among the highest in the world.

Yeah, now that I think back, they are pretty small. But all of my closest Hindu friends are taller and more muscular than average, and the one who's not is overweight; definitely not underfed. They're bigger than some other Asians, but not as big as Europeans, though.

I remember a case where a baby died because his vegan parents fed him only raw vegetables. I think they were charged with negligence or something, but don't know how the case turned out.

To be fair, this isn't just veganism, this is pure idiocy.

I know it shouldn't have to be said, and that you didn't mean it this way, but someone, somewhere would read about this and actually think it's representative of a group.

Sounds a bit more like natural extension.

Though it depends while kind of Veganism we are speaking of. (as in the reasoning)

Afterall, milk is an animal product.

No vegan would have ethical complaints about feeding their own infant kid their own breast milk, as the ethical complaints they have against eating meat or consuming animal products wouldn't apply.

And if a vegan has a health-oriented complaint about infants consuming breast milk, then again, that's just idiocy.

That occurs when a Vegan reasons that Animal products are wrong in it of itself. Which there are some.

They arn't all the reasonable "I don't want to harm animals" kind or "It is against my religion" kind or "I just really don't like meat, milk, honey, cheese, and eggs" kind.

There are full blown "You should ONLY eat vegetables and fruit and wear synthetic materials and/or vegetables" and some arn't even that.

I guess you could find some, but on the other hand, you can pretty much find wacko nutjobs of any persuasion. Those guys would be the types the other vegans laugh at, and who probably don't last long because their children wind up malnourished.

Well outside of veganism there are Parents who go on diets who end up putting their kids on it.

That also can lead to the same thing when you replace meals with Carrots and plain lettus only salad.

Yeah, I just don't want people thinking that kind of thing is representative of veganism, or anything like that.

Raw food people are kind of weird. There have been parents involved in some legal issues due to feeding their kids raw chicken and them getting sick (classic).

Then there are people who literally eat only fruit. Just fruit. Raw fruit. Nothing else, not even other vegetable matter.

Well specifically Fruitarians are only allowed to eat things that died of natural causes.

Not many things die naturally and are capable of being eaten.

I think that depends on which ones you're talking about. Some just do the same old arbitrary appeal-to-nature BS that people have been using in this thread too, except they'll that eating things like grain and meat and seeds is unnatural.

The appeal to nature in general is a deep misunderstanding of... well, a lot of things.

What's "natural" for humans to do, anyway? How do you even define this?

When most people try, they just choose some arbitrary point in prehistory, and say "This is what's natural. This is what must be done."

It can even be incorrectly used to give a product some sort of odd legitimacy or shall we forget "All Natural"

Though I understand that there is some legitimacy to "all natural" but people eat it up way too much.
