To add to your confusion. Often when making these apples the Salt or startch (or both) creates crystals at the bottom of the pan. The times where it doesn't is when someone puts a stick of butter ontop to "Flavor" them.

So... yeah...

I have a pack of bacon, and I'm all wishy washy as to whether I should fry it up right now. I'm a little peeved at the moment, and I cook terribly when my concentration isn't 100%.

Let me look at the package...

What is wrong with you all? The only two foods I can't stomach are shredded lettuce and non-processed tomato. Everything else? Delicious.

I suppose when it comes to meat I'm more of a fish guy, likely because that is the staple food of my diet besides rice. Beef has it's places, but generally that place seems to be in patties for burgers and such. Ham is a good alternative, but it gets expensive. Turkey is absolutely amazing. Chicken is bland, but does have a good texture that would go well with most spices.

But overall fish is king. So long as you get the right fish.

There are some horrible, horrible fish down there in the water that no mortal dare eat.

Veggies? I'll take it, except crap like Tomatoes, potatoes that are too large, any veggie where the cook was lazy and just boiled it, grapefruit and plums. Everything else is fine.

Everything tastes better with a stick of butter shoved up its ass, i.e. turkeys.

I don't take it so far as saying nothing is worth eating without a stick of butter in its ass, but my family does.

My great grandma used to cook everything in bacon fat and lard. She was a survivor of the great depression, so I remember getting to eat alot of foods that today I realize were reminiscent of things that people ate during that time period.

I've read that lard is actually less bad for you than cooking oil.

Anyway, I like nothing better than a bloody steak. In my opinion, the only reason to cook meat is to raise it's temperature because everything tastes better when it's hot.

When she was younger, my sister was once asked how rare does she want her steak at a restaraunt. She said: "When I stick it, it goes MOO!".

Vegetarianism is unnatural and unhealthy. Personally, I do find the treatment of animals in industrial processing facilities pretty abhorrent. Of course they are going to die anyway, might as well make sure that its not in vain. I would much rather kill it and butcher it myself, but I hardly ever get the chance to fish much less hunt anymore.

Vegetarianism is unnatural and unhealthy

Brushing your teeth is unatural. Shitting in a toilet and wiping your arse with factory made toilet paper is unnatural... Most of the things we do are "unnatural". Unless you define natural differently where you could say everything humans do is natural, because adapting to new situations is part of human nature.

I completely disagree that a vegetarian diet is fundamentally unhealthy. Every individual is different and their bodies will tolerate diets differently. I know a lot of vegetarians who are very healthy, and I know some that aren't. Being a vegetarian requires research, to know what foods to eat to replace the nutrients you would get from meat.

Vegetarianism, not necessarily. Veganism on the other hand...

It's not unnatural and it's only unhealthy to the meager extent that they've managed to work around it.

That said, I fucking love eating animals and think it perfectly alright to eat them because that's how it all started and how we got to this point and they taste so damn delicious.

I actually know of restaurants that, if you said that to the waiter, they'd just go out back and bring you a slab of raw meat. Not kidding.

Did you know: On the rarity scale, there's something called "Blue" steaks, which are essentially raw steaks that are only heated slightly.
