I, for one, welcome our nudibranch overlords. But seriously; what the hell was evolution drinking when that thing came to be?
I'd ask that question about quite a few homosapiens too.

Actually, it's Homo Sapien Sapien, or "Wise Wise Man" IIRC.

Every animal that is multi-celled and large has a nervous system. Just no a brain. (With that considered, it's a pretty big difference, going from - ability to react (Peripherial Nervous System) to the ability to cry at a funeral and then have wild sex in a truck stop bathroom while buying presents for christmas (Central "Developed Brain" Nervous System)

well, if you derive your venom from an already-efficient venom source, you're probably using less energy on it than otherwise. Leaving you more for, say, reproduction. Simple.

Less seriously: Something distilled, clearly- an inspiration for a poison-still-monster.

If reality were so simple as to have tags(alleles?) like [POISON_STILL]- sure, why not. :)

...that monster already exists in Exalted though.

If we're getting nitpicky, it's "sapiens."  Yes, that's the singular form.  Latin strikes again!

Obviously the species name was chosen by the department of redundancy department.

The species name is "Homo Sapiens". The second "Sapiens" is the subspecies.

It's not a terribly uncommon thing in taxonomy to use the species name as the subspecies name as well when they're only one subspecies classified.
