I smoke the occasional pipe or cigar, and my guilty pleasure is the odd menthol cigarette.
I don't take back into my lungs, because I do it for flavour, not crazy addict nicotine rush.

I lost my grandfather to smoking. My aunt and my grandmother also smoked until about 10 years ago. Seeing photos of them back then is like "WTF YOU LOOK SO OLD". Its not only lung cancer you get, your skin ages faster and you develop some nasty withdrawl effects.

But I'm a firm believer in that people should be allowed to do what they want to their own bodies. But when that smoke starts effecting me, then its a problem that has to be stopped.

Yes, I actually don't have problem with smoking, I often hang around with friends who are smokers despite not smoking myself. But that is my choice to hang around them and I made it, I knew that it would involve breathing in their smoke and accepted it. No-one else has the right to make that choice for me by smoking in public areas.

Not only is smoking bad, second-hand smoke is astonishingly bad for those around you. A study I heard from my local radio scaremonger says that places that have instituted a ban on smoking have noticed a consistent drop in heart disease in areas where the bans have taken place. As it turns out, second-hand smoke is a tad more dangerous towards our hearts than previously expected, and forcing people to take it outside has improved everyone else's health overall.

Not really a reason to quit, but a damn good reason to not smoke in areas where other people will be breathing it in secondhand.

It is not hurting you in anyway and you may not like it but it would be an infringement on their rights to stop them. You on the other hand do not have a right to "Not be forced to watch gross stuff"
