Ideas on how to build a tower going directly up?

Specifically ones which dont involve scafolding on every side of the building (which is my alternative)



building looks like this

will go up about 10 z levels, i havent made a tower in long time and forgot my original process.

When you're done, remove the supports and scaffolding and such.

Build up/down stairs, build floors around said stair, build wall over precedent walls (*10) ?

The only advice I can giv you is to first build the corner wall, and then the others walls, or to build first the E-W walls and then th N-S walls. The wiki got a good page on building tower.

Yeah, this is what I do, mostly. It works, but it can be a hassle when you just want to get a tower up in no time. Does anyone know if diagonal building is going to be put in?

If you want to have a tower up reeeaaaallly fast, wall in only the lowest level, for all others stick with your up/down stair. Then mass-build floors, walls and all else.
