Quandary.
« on: November 25, 2009, 12:17:42 am »

Completely non-hypothetical situation:

Option A:
Father is positive for Hep B.
No one else in family is.
Father is suspected of unfaithfulness.
Marriage is shaky enough to dissolve.
Father and Mother's chances of both escaping separation unscathed not good.

Option B:
Father is positive for Hep B.
One or more other family family members also have it as well.
Family pulls together.

Which should I be hoping for?

Hepatitis B is treatable, if that's even necessary.

So, the second one.

A with a dash of "father secretly gets treatment to keep marrige together?"

Ahh, screw it, if he's not smart enough to use protection....

There are other ways to catch hepatitis B, you know.

heck, a condom wouldnt help you that much if you were getting intimate with an infectee. It passes through saliva as well.

Option C:
Father has Hep B
He got it from Saliva/Fecal Matter/Blood in a totally innocent manner.
Family pulls together

Back home they used to run ads warning overseas travellers that you could catch it from places you wouldn't except.

First ten minutes of play I ate my loincloth and then got some limbs torn off by a super friendly rat. Thumbs up from me.

Depends, are you willing to infect yourself to make Option B happen?

the real question is: Is he willing to have sex with his father in order to infect himself?

I considered saying that, but decided against it.  You're a braver man than me.

It was too funny to pass.

By the way, and jokes aside, you do NOT want to get hepatitis B (unnatural acts or not). It can and often does cause acute or chronic liver failure, is the root cause of 80% of hepatic cancers, and treatment is not fully effective: many people get stuck with the disease. So, don't do anything foolish, kids

Congrats for making the forum a slightly worse place.

In any case, everyone tested negative.

Well, that must be one hell of a relief.
