Aside from that, I don't try eating anything foul smelling; there isn't anything nasty that you can't pick up in the scent.

You can't always go by scent. This horrible Korean drink just smelt like slightly scented hot water; nothing to give away the fact that it was really quite nasty.

In fact I've had things which smelt quite nasty, but tasted pretty good.

I literally could not taste anything else that night without rotten fish creeping up my throat. It entered everything. I never knew a bite of fish could have so much oil that would not wash off my mouth.

My drink wasn't quite that bad, but every so often last night I would randomly taste it, and I could swear I could feel it down the back my throat as well.

Rum.

Yes, rum.  It was "good" rum too, something my dad bought - a connoisseur (word?) of alcohol (not an alcoholic).  It burned my mouth upon contact, and fell out of my mouth almost instantly.

Actually my only contact with rum is drinking Morgans spiced and coke when I cant vodka redbulls.

I bought a bottle of Galleon-brand rum in Cuba 5 years ago, allegedly brewed as a "shot rum" rather than one for combos. It was kind of tasty, but then again I kind of had a taste for spirits back then, which I think I have lost by now. (It takes some tries to get used to them and be able to taste them. Before that you just feel the burning)

McDonalds doesnt really taste bad.... it doesnt have a taste, in fact, for the most part.

Green apple vodka.
Accidentally drank some thinking it was water.
I sniffed it afterwards and it smelled just like green apple flavoured candy.

Incredibly sweet and sour with a disgusting, sweet and sour smell and generally tasting nothing like apples.

Also, @Cthulhu, curly fries are the best, no matter who sells them, IMHO. Unless they're too greasy though.

I cant stand the taste of orange-flavor drink + vodka combo. This phobia was ingrained in be by three separate events: my worst hangover ever, a robbery, and a beating.  By sheer coincidence, they happened to take place the same night. Want to guess on the common element to them all?

Once when I was young, I had some good Ol' eggs. Nothing about it tasted bad at all, in fact it was extra crunchy, which I like.
 Then my tongue started stinging, I looked down at my food and guess what I saw?

 I'll take that as a warning then. I've never encountered anything that didn't taste like it smelled, or smell like it tastes. Nor anything that couldn't be identified and located by scent.
