Shortening Dwarven Line of Sight? Or At Least Line of Panic?
« on: November 22, 2009, 11:05:45 am »

I'm playing the Dig Deeper mod for the first time, on a chasm map.  All well and good, so far the mod seems fun.

Then about halfway through summer, Orcs arrive.  I immediately wall myself in, since I hate fighting, and I only have 7 dwarves to about 30 orcs.   So, I decide that I'll build a bridge across the chasm, so my Trade Caravans can come in the other side...   which I just now realized won't happen until the siege stops.  So bum.

Anyhow...  there's a Zombie Ratman...  13 z-levels below my bridge.  And about 10 squares away, and really seems like it should be hidden by a little rock outcropping.  But he's scaring my dwarves.  Is there a way to lower the distance from which dwarves see things?

Also, I took out the [MULTIPLE_LITTER_RARE] tag and changed the child tag to [CHILD:1].  Am I correct in assuming that will make my dwarves become adults in 2 years (1 yr. baby, 1 yr. child)?  And will that work without restarting?

I think next time I'll take out the orcs.

Not as far as I know. You could always gouge out their eyes, that could work.

Just remove the baby tag and set the child tag to whatever you want. That way they'll skip the baby stage altogether.
