Random Farming Mod Question...

I'm interested in making farming harder or at least take longer, so I was thinking about changing all plants to have a GROWDUR:1008 (one season) and nothing can grow in the winter time.  Would this mess things up?  Would something planted in the Fall that takes all season to grow not be harvest able when it clicked over to Winter? Maybe I should make everything take 980 (taking a day off) instead...

It would be harvestable, but you have to allow the plant to be grown in winter. It won't be planted in winter, because dwarfs believe next year will never come, so they don't plant stuff that won't ripen before new year's day, but if you disallow winter, they won't plant anything in the fall, because it won't ripen before the growing season's over.

Can a plant be grown in a Biome other than the one in which it was found? (that is to say, can you trade for a seed from a tropical biome, and grow it up in the mountains?) What about the [WET] and [DRY] tags? Are these just for placement within the Biome, such as how close they're found to rivers/ponds?

Where did you come up with 2400?  Did you just randomly choose a number close to 3 seasons or what?  Just trying to understand time/seasons/etc...
