Every game a moderator runs is a learning experience. I never learn how broken things are until I try them!

Things I've learned:
-If something you add is cool but makes you have to do ten times as much work, maybe you shouldn't add it.
-Don't have too much death prevention.
-Putting a player in both the town and mafia at the same time is a bad idea.
-It's perfectly fine to go against a Shakeragian role submission's name if you can't figure out a way of making it work.
-Non-deterministic stuff means more work.
-NPCs are a fun idea in theory but in practice they mean more work.
-Try not to make assumptions about how a game will go, or you'll get a poisoner who can only poison on the last phase of the game.
-Your players will make assumptions about your setup. They won't always be right.

If only I knew these things when I started modding.

Ahaha yeah I explicitly moved to low information action reporting so I would have to send less PMs. The more overhead your game has the more likely you are to make a mistake in your own rules as well.

Watch... a shakeragian poisoner. Does shakeragian have something to do with shakerag?

Kinda. Shakeragian roles typically refers to roles that have explicitly convoluted descriptions, named after the user Shakerag for the role names they typically sent in for BYOR games. They also usually incur a negative consequence on other players and have ridiculous mechanics to them. The term has evolved over time to focus mainly on the mechanics portion.

Yeah I might start with some vanilla-type mafia game with some flavour before getting to the mad stuff. Would be good to have folk to make sure the balance is good though.
