Nothing necessarily wrong with a vanilla or near-vanilla game, though, if that's what people want to play.

Plus sometimes doing a regular game can make the other more "Out There" games more special. If every game is "Out There" than the spectacle sorta loses some power. I'm not saying that a ton of Vanilla games should happen but a few here or there wouldn't be too out of place.

QFT - I haven't seen any non-BM Mountainous or Near Mountainous games in a long time.  Is there really no demand for normal games?

Yeah. I've been pondering an enforced 'nice' game, just to try and dial back the vitriol a bit on the subforum.
That's one of my rules, but some people still don't listen.

The thing is, "Out There" comprises multiple directions. We have bastards, we have BYORs, we have closed setups, we have Revolutions, we have Elements and Trusts. So I wouldn't say that, for example, bastards lose some power if they are only hosted once per several months while the rest of the time is devoted to other out-therish games.

The problem with mountainous games is that they are difficult to balance.  For example, 7 townies and 2 mafia is really biased towards the mafia.  11 townies and 2 mafia is roughly balanced, but also staggeringly boring.

There are, however, a few effectively mountainous setups with other mechanics worked in to try and make it a bit more balanced and less boring, which we could have a look at, such as White Flag (3 mafia and 10 townies, but the mafia loses if they are reduced to one member).

I like the premise, but I think that basing an entire game off it is not the best of ideas. IMO it would be better to work this mechanic into one of the more power role-heavy games (like Paranormal).

It's good to throw them into the mix.  Also, why aren't you playing?

Just settling into the married life, and other games on my plate, I guess. Did just sign up for the BM, though.

Psh, you got married long ago.  That's pretty much not happened now!

I like JK9++.  I'd play a game of it... or maybe host it if there's interest.

That hasn't been so bad, but there are so many other games! (mostly Duel of Champions, Civ V, Borderlands 2)

It looks kinda interesting. Think I'll take it slow for now, though!

Don't forget Planetside 2.   (Though I've been hooked on Minecraft lately)
