On another note, with Revolution finished, is this the sort of game people would be interested in me running again at some point? Perhaps with Plots (the Revolution equivalent of power roles)?

Yeah, maybe later.

I'm going to throw in with GlyphGryph and state that losing is actually the most educational experience possible. It teaches townies what sort of reads they can rely on, and which they can't. Being right doesn't teach this, and can often teach the wrong things. Having good scum is crucial for teaching good scumhunting.

If there's a problem, I think it's that our newbie retention rate is abysmal.

Both accounts hold true.

On the first: yes. Losing is the most educational experience if you make it
> Memorable
> Fun
That's how I learned from my first BM...And lost the proceeding regular games. Hard.

It was actually a great game. With the tendency of...conversation to derive who's scum instead. Though, giving spies a pre-game time to chat with themselves seems like a skewed advantage due to the idea that "No roleflip/Death//Yes chat" is a constant.

Interest check:  Roguelike 6?  Got a bit of an urge to host something.

I would happily play; but not until I get out of one of the games I'm in.

I have no issue with delaying hosting since both KotM and Totem 2 just started.

I've found a fairly good idea for a third Witches' Coven sized for 13 people. Before I put in any substantial effort into fleshing out this setup, I'd like to know if there'd be any interest in it, and whether there are enough interested people around for a 13p game.

If so, I'll probably get back in 2-3 months with the game. Well?

In 2-3 months?  Yes, please.

Is there enough interest for a small mostly mountainous mafia?

Maybe vengeful?

I want to see mountains, ZU-dalf!

Question: I know the general policy is that one should run a BM before running another game, but what with the trend towards interminable Extension BMs, waiting for one's opportunity to run a game might take many months when the will and opportunity has long since passed. So would anyone be terribly upset if I went ahead and ran a small mafia-like game? I've been mulling over experimenting with my idea for a five-player Elemental Mafia.

Meh.  My personal opinion is that anyone who's shown themselves pretty reliable at playing should be allowed to run a game, with the caveat that if the game has a closed setup, they show it to a well-established mod to check the balance.
