Depends, I'd say.  If it's still "mafia mechanics but all the dayspeak/ nightspeak is in character", then I'd say it fits in the mafia forum.  If it's "Roleplay in which you have to find and eliminate the ones who are secretly working against you"... maybe not.

It's still mafia, it just has all talk done in character. All the other mechanics (roles, votes, etc) work the same.

I'd certainly follow along, but I don't know if I could work up the effort to scumhunt in character.

Here is an example I was involved in.

And, yes, Roleplay is required. Pretty much all of the mafiaesque games over there are RP heavy and it works quite well. The Werewolf games over there were actually my introduction to mafia back in 2003 or so.

Woah, indeed. I'm generally down with some roleplaying, but that seems a bit... excessive. Still, I'll certainly in and give it an honest shot. I'll try anything once (as they say: "once, a philosopher; twice, a pervert").

I'd probably like it better if it had some additional impact, like the Roll-to-Dodge flavour that was used in a couple of bastard games before my times. That was fun and gave strong incentive to roleplay on top of the finding scum stuff. It was a bit unforgiving, though, I'd probably tweak it to give a "sufficient/satisfactory" result on 2, and critical failures don't outright kill you... but you're the balance guy.

Sorcerer's Apprentice III is over. Scum win again through a rather unexpected series of circumstances. :-\

Suggested it before, it's a little more fleshed out now. Figure this would be something good to run because it wouldn't conflict with Paranormal.

(I want to break the cycle of running role heavy games in parallel with Mephansteras. I'll probably run another Sorcerer's Apprentice at some point, but I'll wait until the next Paranormal is underway).

Basically, it's a standard Mafia game with a post restriction. The goal is to teach people to scum hunt and get their point across in a concise manner. (No walls of text)

Sure, why not?  You'd need to link a good character counter in the rules, plus details on punishments for breaking the rules.

This is a nice and clean one.  Essentially, you can copy and paste the preview (not the source if you're voting or linking) and push the button.

I'm probably going with 3 strikes or 1 blatant abuse and you're out.

What would you guys think about a Mafia Questions and Meta thread?

It'd basically be a place for newbies to ask questions in a non-game environment, or before they join a game, and for more experienced players to discuss strategy.
Just an interest check first though, so I don't wind up making a thread no-one uses.

If you have a questions thread, it should probably be updated with important questions going to the OP, and other questions can be asked at will. Which I am for.

Go for it. Sounds like it'd be useful. Maybe put [QUESTIONS & ANSWERS] in the title so it's easy to spot?
