Vector: Even me? :o

Even you what?  Modding, or invisible?

Once Webadict's new game starts it will be awesome.

It'd better be, because I want to play it :I

Modding.

EDIT (OMG this feels so wierd): How about Chill Mafia? A fairly lax game, etc, etc.

Toony, I'll send you the current dilemma. In a bit. Or you all could play Liar's Dice at irc.newnet.net in #dicebot

Blorgh.

This subforum is currently miserable.  Games are dying and inactive.  We have only one game in signups, and it's almost full.  A lot of our regulars are missing.  The queue is empty.  No one is running off to mod.

So.  What are we going to run?  What do people want to play?  In a phrase, how do you think we should approach this situation?

Let me say in advance that I will join almost anything at this point, just to bring attendance up again.  I don't care if the mod is inexperienced, as long as they've played a couple games.  There have been worse catastrophes than inexperienced mods.
If we really need games, I can throw a few up there.

But it seems like we have a lack of reliable players to me. More games isn't going to fix that.

I think that whats really hit us is the transition to a new school year. I don't remember how we survived them in the past, but it seems to have thrown a wrench into the subreddit's operation (not that it was smooth going in the first place :P).

That's the sign of an abusive boyfriend, Toony... you don't have to listen to him.

I had this idea for a game where I'd make a bunch of accounts and assign them to all the players. Sign-ups would be via PM instead of public posting. That way, you'd have no idea who each player actually is.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

I once tried figuring out a way to make Anonymous Mafia work, but I think I ran across a few stumbling blocks.

If you can make it work I'd definitely be interested in playing.

Then Toady bans us all.
How about we just clear it with him first? As long as the Mod changes all the passwords once the game is finished, then there would be no worries of abuse.

I can start sign-ups for my 7-player game this weekend. NOT A PROBLEM.

I've pretty much gotten all the initial stuff written out and ready to start as soon as I have enough players.

[EDIT:] MAYBE A PROBLEM. TF2 Polycount Pack update.

What, do you guys take me for a fool? Yes? Fine, but I would of shot a PM off to Toady well in advance. The stumbling blocks are more "compare usage times to figure everyone out", "how the hell am I supposed to find tells" and a general lack of interest in mafia, much less one that's harder and more complex than normal.

If you're not bothered in having newbies in your ranks, I might join.
The only experience I'm having with mafia is playing the werewolf version of it IRL a bit some years ago, but I don't really remember much of it.

If there is a good tutorial or if there is willing to fill me in on the basics, I'd be happy to learn.

I won't in.

Or will I?

But yeah, we'd need more interest in mafia first.

There could be a game with a normal part and an anonymous bit on Quicktopic.

Or something like that.
