I forgot about Vote Mafia, that's another example of a game type I'm fond of.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

I would totally be up for running a Forum based Chaos game :P
forum games are longer and take more effort.  There's also more time to think and try to break a setup.  Playing a broken setup can be inmensely frustrating in a forum.  It's not like you can play 10 in a row in 2 hours if you want to.

There's also the fact that Xylbot players would have a much bigger advantage (knowing the mechanics and how to exploit them, knowing how to fakeclaim).

If you ever wanted to do this... I'd suggest that you run 100 testsetups and pick the most balanced chaos you can.

and require a minimum amount of IRC games for the players so they will know basically how things work (even if you explain it to a non IRC player, he will probably miss most things).

No, Pen is Mightier is NOT the Ebil Italics.  There WON'T be an option for THAT.

Also, yes, there will only be one actual scum group.  Depending on how the setup goes (the roles given, the rules in place) some win conditions will end up interesting, but the main thrust will be "large group of town, attempts to lynch smaller group of scum".

Last note: When the game starts, I will tell what each rule you chose does, so you know what you're up against.

Ovbiously i'd ensure the chaos roles were in fact, not broken.

I can't guarantee they'd be balanced, since this is chaos, but i can definitely just keep doing testsetups until i get a setup that's not broken.

just remember.  The amount of time to analyze a setup makes forums differ greatly from chat.

I'd probably vouch for MC right off the bat and then just struggle to intertwine everyone's actions.

You don't create the rules :P  You choose the ones from the list that will be there.

Although right NOW I'll accept suggestions for them if anyone has any.

Infinite Jest.
I don't read gender. I read intent. Besides, you could be a feminine guy for all I know. Don't be a sexist.
Something like this. On the internet, nobody knows if you're a _. And, because either "he" is considered default or possibly because of some imbalance of "insult derived from getting it wrong", that's what people go with. Also it tends to have little bearing on much.
IMBML(BM(M))
I like any game that is won more on cleverness than on power role abuse.  Give me a game that strongly encourages cleverness, and I will play it.  Other games are kind of boring, nowadays.

Yep, there's only one time a lone scum player has managed to take on an entire setup of townies and win.

*cough*

Anyway, Endless Eight.  Just to see what you come up with - it obviously won't pass :P.

Abstract nonsense

Additional: can I convince anyone to come sub in for Beginner's IX?  We need two replacements and the thing is pretty much dead.  I'm about to send out batched PMs, but I thought I'd ask here, first.
