The closest I've seen was Toon Mafia 7 which had majority 3rd party players. Town still won.

I think what you're looking for is "Religion Mafia" (1, 2), which can boil down to "de facto survivors vs. cult", with some other third-parties that could spawn in as well.

These two setups are somewhat close though...

- Third-Party Mafia (though there is a genuine Mafia team and a Vanilla Townie, most of the roles are traditional third-party roles, and you can argue the Mafia and the Townie are also "third-party" as well in this setup...)  - 1, 2, 3

- Third-World Mafia - only one Townie vigilante and everyone else belongs to rival Mafia groups - the Townie was at a disadvantage though so I wish I had given him more power.

I'm sure there's been several, but the only one I can think of is BYOR 13, which had no scum team, but 5 SKs.

A couple Roguelikes did.

Roguelike 3 had two Mentors that could each recruit one person, who was granted a kill.

Roguelike 5 had two SKs and a Lyncher.  One SK had a two-shot kill and the other had a two-shot poison.

10-11 player games, to me, are a great number for experimental gametypes.  9 and 12-13 are obvious for 2/3 scum, but I've always felt that 10 and 11 were hard to balance.  Ergo, ripe for experimentation.

Currently we have no active games. I think I'm going to develop a mini setup some more in the setups thread, and then I can run that before Tomasque does his build-someone-else's-role mafia.

I would like to mention that I'm enjoying the more experimental flavor of recent games on Bay.

I finally thought of a Good (at the very least, definitely different?) idea for a game with new flavor/mechanics. I'm going to keep developing it for a bit and think about How Many Characters, etc., but I am delighted to be able to say that I actually have something.

Are there any preferences to the types of mini-setup people would like to see? To avoid getting in the way of the bigger ones, the most players I'll go up to is 7. I'm wondering if a Fallacy implementation of Wuba's classic Vote Mafia would go well.
