Why is the hunter unable to kill multiple nights if they kill a townie? Bad enough when a vig kills a townie, but you double wound it afterwards.
To penalize them for killing indiscriminantly. Perhaps this would help the town out:
SeerEach night the seer can reveal the true nature of one player and determine if that player is a Human or a Monster. If the targeted player is a Monster, the Seer also determines which kind.
HunterEach night, the Hunter can inspect a player or choose to kill a player. The inspection reveals only if the player is Human or a Monster. If that player is not a monster, the Hunter cannot kill the following night out of guilt.
Vamp won't have a chance to recruit. Typical games last only 3 days unless scum start dying.
It depends on which monsters are in the game. For example, if it's just a Vampires, the game would be slower because the scum would only kill every other night.
Cubs makes the werewolf pack too powerful. Alpha is already immune to night actions and a dead cub gives them 2 kills as well!?
Does this help? Making the Alpha only night kill immune (other actions can still target it) and removing the Cubs (for now).
WerewolfThe local Werewolf pack is fighting back against the town. Any Werewolf knows the members of his pack. One of the Werewolves (choosen at random) is the Alpha Werewolf. Each night, the Alpha Werewolf choose a player to kill. The Alpha Werewolf cannot be night-killed, but is otherwise affected normally by night actions. If the Alpha Werewolf is killed, another werewolf at random is chosen to take his place.
Goal: Kill all non-Werewolves.
zombie is basically a cult with a small backlash at times. VERY powerful
Depends on the concentration of the town power roles. If there are enough (roughly half or maybe a little more), half the time the scum will lose one of their own when they attack. How about this tweak? (The Zombies also do now talk privately.)
ZombieA Zombie needs brains to survive! Each night, the Zombies can choose to attack a player. If the player is a human, the Zombies eat the player's brains (killing them); however, if the player has any special powers, they fight back, killing one of the Zombie as well. If the Zombies attacks another monster, both the other monster and one random Zombie will be killed.
Any human player or Werewolf has a random chance (to be determined) of rising as a new Zombie the next morning instead of being killed. Any new Zombie loses all other powers.
Goal: Kill all non-Zombies.
Lich is broken. As usual.
Lich really is too powerful.
New Lich, less broken?
LichThe Lich's goal is to manipulate the town into turning on each other. At the start of the game, a random player is chosen as the Lich's phylactery. If the Lich is lynched before that player, the Lich's soul is passed on to the new player, turning them into a Lich. The new Lich looses any previous abilities and gains a random phylactery from among the current players. A Lich's phylactery can be either a monster or a human.
If a Seer inspects a Lich, the Lich's phylactery will be revealed (although the phylactery's race / role will not). If an Angel targets a Lich, the Lich will not be able to transfer to its phylactery.
Demon sounds odd... unsure if he's too weak or WAYYYY too strong.
I made it to sound interesting. Basically, he has some power, but only after the second night. And he's working alone. I'm not sure if it's over or under powered either, a play test would probably be required.
