So Roguelike 5 is over, Paranormal 21 is still on, and BYOR 9 is about to begin...

I still want to run Cybrid VI eventually, but it doesn't seem to be the right time for a largish game to start. How would people feel about me running a short and quick Vengeful Mafia game?

For those unfamiliar, Vengeful is a five-player game with emphasis on activity and day-game skills.

There are three town, two scum. Lynch the Godfather and you instawin! Lynch the mafioso, and you've made good progress. Mislynch a townie D1, and he becomes Vengeful: he gets an instant revenge kill on someone of their choosing. There is no nightkill. Hell, there is no night at all. It's all about the day play.

There have been several of these, and many have been a lot of fun, but with so few players they are very vulnerable to people lurking or dicking around instead of trying to find the scum or screw the town. Lurking will not be tolerated.

Some earlier Vengeful games of note:
VM1: The original. First of many "Vengekill Pandarsenic" games.
VM2: The very best! But only because I won... my first ever scum game with the best scumbuddy.
VM4: First Vengeful town win, with a lovely lynch of webadict.

There were some failures too: VM5 & VM9 died of lurking (differently handled, but just as dead).

Would there be objections to Vengeful X going into signups? Is it a good time for it?
Ideas would be welcome for how to preemptively avoid death by lurking for these...

Hmm. Could be interesting. I'd have to come up with a good idea for it.

Anyone else have a preference on what I run next?

No real preference! Wouldn't mind another Paranormal though, this was my first and it was fun.

I vote for Paranormal 22. Twice.

We've got 21 PMs+2 bastards and like 6 SNs+the half-assed RP one. Besides, there's a heated discussion in the rules thread. I don't think it's rational having another PM so soon.

"Let's have more of the good stuff" sounds pretty rational to me. But sure, let's finish up those heated discussions before it starts. Hell, we could finish them while P22 is on sign ups! 8-P

Wizard Duel 5!  Whatever, really.  If it's Paranormal, let's get any changes squared away first.

Wizard's duel or Bastard Para sound good to me. Preferably something crazier than usual.

Sadly, Wizard duel is pretty much out of the running with my current job. Takes too much time writing the flavor and I can't run the scripts used to calculate the results of the battles here. So It'd be something I'd only really get to run when I'm at home and have a free evening.

Which is a shame, since I like the unusual aspects of that game. Even if it doesn't balance too well yet.

The games always got lurky, too, so in the current quiet environment it may not be a good idea.

I'd love another Sorcerer's Apprentice, though.  Where'd Janus run off to?
