I looked in at the shipyard about upgrading our guns to actual cannons instead of the weaker culverins the Murdered is currently outfitted with. As I suspected, upgrading is outside of our price range. The moment I do get cannons, I'm returning to bombard my agent's estate from sea.
We're setting sail. Shades checked the stores and estimates a month-long voyage is doable.

"Smoke on the horizon!" Drifted down from the fluttering sails. None were surprised. They'd passed out of portuguese waters a few days ago and had expected Seville ever since.
Zorgn motioned the new first mate Dave Portsmith over. "We'll pass by. The Spanish don't like us, and we don't need to test our luck just yet. We've barely been out a week anyway. Steer us well away." Mr. Portsmith nodded, and began yelling sail changes.

We met our first fleet in the strait south of Seville last night. It was a Portuguese merchant fleet of four ships, two Latins like the Murdered and two Carracks, a much larger ship, but far from the largest things at sea. Considering most of the crew was asleep, we were outnumbered ten to one, probably outgunned by any one of the ships, and were trying to navigate in the dark, I chose not to attack. There'll be another time.

"Smoke on-"
"Just yell, 'Port!'"
"Port!"

We found the Spanish port of Valencia today. I'm usually reluctant to go into the same room with spaniards, but if doing so involves selling them things at outrageous prices (and most of their navy is busy elsewhere) I'm all for it. That's why I did not hesitate to dock today. We refilled our stores of food and water, and sold off our sugar at a fair profit. Unfortunately, all I'd made off the sugar plus some immediately went to a wool merchant, purveyor of the only thing worth buying in town.
This trading life sucks.

"Port!"
"Aye."

Further north and east brought us to the town of Marseille. It's a small supply port, and we don't need supplies.

Further east, Genoa. It's even worse provisioned than Marseille. Heading on.

Finally breaking the tedium of always traveling north and east, we turned south and found Naples. Unfortunately, it's another in the string of supply ports.

Majorca. At first glance, it appears to be another supply port. It's one saving grace, however, is that it's the first port we've happened upon that sells grain. We'll never make a fortune selling it, but there is a profit to be made if we have excess cargo space.

We were met at the docks of Istanbul by Turkish officers. Apparently Portugal and
Turkey are at war, and we're not welcome. If that's how they want to play, I now consider it open season on ill-defended Turkish ships.
OOC: My drawing software does not like me making maps. I still have the MSPaint option, but that's not a road I really want to walk if I don't have to. I should at least be able to make faster updates if I don't have to mess with mapmaking on top of trying to make a soulless trading game halfway interesting.
