Indeed.  Any hobby that destroys my taste for Mad Dog 20/20 and Yellow Tail is a hobby I don't want to take up.

Hmm, I never figured you for the fancy type aqizzar.

There's a difference between fancy beer and drinkable beer.  Keystone and Dos Equis is as low as I'll go.  Anything cheaper, like your Buds and Nattys and Millers and anything labeled Light, you might as well be drinking water and alcohol distillate.

Admittedly mainstream American beers are somehow even worse than the ones in the UK, but there are plenty of really rather good microbreweries around as well. Anchor beers are pretty fantastic.
As you might guess, I like my fancy real ales.

The difference is less noticeable after half a dozen or so. ;)

If you've got a particulary actrocious brew, that just about when the headache starts setting in ;)

Haha, yeah. If I'm planning on getting hammered (quite rare now except on special occasions like a good friend's birthday or Purim) I'll bring along a six pack of good stuff and by the time it's gone, I dont' notice the shit taste of bad beer anymore.

Went to a fantastic pub in York on saturday.
The Rook and Gaskill is a winner of many good pub and good beer awards, and it's just outside one of the old city gates. It has 12 real ales and three real ciders, which change every week or so. There's also a few good house ales.
It got it's name from a nearby gallows a few centuries ago, where two criminals, Messrs Rook and Gaskill were hanged.
If you live in the area and like a damn good pint in a damn good pub with damn good food, go there.
