There are also 2 gas fireplaces in the house. There used to be fireplaces in all the rooms until the 80's, but most of them got filled in.
Actually, it's weird to think that my house is older than many of the countries in Europe.

Wood burns so much nicer than gas. I can stare at a wood-burning fireplace for hours, sipping coffee and thinking about stuff.

I agree, log fireplaces are the bee's entire body.

Getting wood for them sucks, though.  We have a friend we get it from, he's slowly clearing the forest from his land, but it takes forever to unload it from the truck, and about a third of the pieces end up being bigger than our fireplace.  Then you lean on one to decide what to do with it, and plant your hand right in the middle of a huge swarm of ants.  Feels bad, man.

I likewise enjoy coffee when gazing into the fire.
I normally make very strong black coffee, so when I do this I only make quite strong black coffee so it doesn't stink of burning and dull mornings.
