All right.
It's magic.exe. You'll have to run install.exe first to configure it.

No problem. Also, when you run the install, close DOSBox, open it again, and do the mounting and such, and then enter magic, or it'll just keep telling you to install it again and again.

EDIT: And when you play, the cursor is stuck in the window. You'll have to quit or Alt-tab to do other things.

I'm probably going to go online in a few minutes with Need for Speed (figured if I would play it I might as well broadcast). There's a chance that there will be no chat or voice during this exercise, depending on how well it works windowed.

Also! Just spam high elf longbowmen. One regiment can take out one war bear. A WAR BEAR, PEOPLE. They deal insane damage and get at least two and up to five free shots. I've been using a regiment of longbowmen to defend one of my cities. Out of probably seven or ten times of getting attacked, I've only ever actually been in danger of getting damaged once - and then I just retreated, attacked them again the next turn, and finished them off handily. All the other times my single regiment of longbowmen slaughtered the opposition before they even got into range.

EDIT: And just listen to this. I have an army with two regiments of longbowmen (and some idiot hero who never deals any damage). I think they're veterans, I've been raiding with them for a while. They just raided a tower and utterly destroyed EIGHT REGIMENTS of Phantom Warriors before the PWs even got halfway there. Incredible.

Started another game, this time a Chaos/Sorcery Wizard.
I just got a proposition from a Dorf Hero, should I hire him?
I think I might.

Stats for Brax, the Dwarf
Melee-5
Ranged-0
Armor-4
Resistance-10
Hits-11

Constitution-Bonus Health
Mountaineer-He, and stacked units, can travel mountains and hills at a cost of one or something like that

Heroes suck. They all suck. Every single one of them sucks. The only hero I ever hired, I only hired because he was a Noble, which makes him pay me.
Well, maybe you should hire him if you're planning on going around mountains a lot. But keep in mind that his actual attack power is going to be awful until you get him a decent weapon, a shield, and level him to Champion (200 ep).

EDIT: How do I clean up the black slime that my enemies cast on my land squares? They're lowering my production, and Dispel doesn't work.

Sorry. As far as I know, you just have to keep mounting it.

There's also a way to just go to where you mount and then progress through folders. But I forgot it.

Anyway, maybe you should start your own DOSBOX thread?

There's a file called DOSBox.conf. If you're using XP, it should be in C:\Org\Local Settings\Application Data\DOSBox\dosbox-{version}.conf. If you're using Vista or Windows 7, C:\Users\Org\AppData\Local\DOSBox\dosbox-{version}.conf. If you're using a Mac, ~/Library/Preferences/DOSBox 0.73 Preferences. Open it with notepad. There'll be a section called [autoexec]. Under it, write
MOUNT C C:\ORGSDOSBOXGAMES (or whatnot)
C:
Now every time you open DOSBox, you have only to type >c:masters and >magic or such to play.

How do I clean up the black slime that my enemies cast on my land squares? They're lowering my production, and Dispel doesn't work.
