trade depot idea
« on: November 11, 2006, 01:43:00 pm »

since the new refinements with the stockpiles, how about being able to choose items to be carried to the trade depot by designating certain stockpiles to be emptied to the trade depot automatically whenever a trade caravan arrives on the horizon?

example: finished goods stockpile #7 max bins 12 (whatever) whenever a trade caravan arrives on the edge of the map the game automatically produces bring to depot commands for the dwarves, so the busybodies transport all 12 finished goods bins to the depot without further bother........

other idea:
-when asked what items should be hauled to the trade depot, make a "don't show"-list so you don't have to browse through huge amounts of doors, floodgates, bars before you come to the usefull stuff

I think one of those cool, type-y don't show lists would be easier for all parties.

i'm thinking that you'll bring a lot of forbidden stuff to the depot...

do you get hammered before you sell them?

An option to 'trade all' on the current view. I find myself pressing [down][enter] a hundred times to selected a bunch of stone idols on a page.

Maybe have a 'permanent trade' option, so once items are selected they stay at the trade depot because you know you won't be selling them internally.

You can bring forbidden goods to the depot with no penalty - they just show as purple in the trade screen.

To reduce clutter on the "bring to depot" page, the "type to narrow down" interface that you have on the manager screen could be put in.  Type in "Finished" and you have all the finished goods bins.

Nope.  You can take them to the depot without a problem.  In the trade screen forbidden items show up in purple, to let you know that there is a noble mandate attached to them.  It is only when they get sold that there is a problem.

right...

yeah... a search thing would be useful.. bit of a pain looking for bins when you have billions of them.
