Snarlingtool: Refuge of the Elf King
« on: November 10, 2009, 10:49:21 am »

Hi guys,

Just wanted to show off my new fort. It's a giant obsidian cast tower on an island on the sea coast. It's an Elf king fort, but the king hasn't arrived. My framerate is starting to crawl and I can only get new dwarves by breeding, so I'm showing it early. Welcome to Snarlingtool Fortress!

Awesome. Simply awesome.

Though you should remove the foundations of the tower- And replace them with an support. Link it to an pressure plate right before the Elf kings bed/room.

Looks fantastic!

Ooh!  You should try building some arch supports/flying buttresses!

Which would be hilarious is a kobold looking to steal the kings trousers tripped it

The only problem is that I couldn't engrave them unless I rebuilt another massive pouring construction. Pouring magma at this scale took months to complete.

I especialy loved the waterfall in the side of the tower, and the grass at the top with a stream and a bridge over it instantly made it a favorite for me.
