Uncharacteristic speech/statements.

So I was playing my goblin adventurer today, and decided to chat up the local demon overlord.



He wasn't as menacing and powerful as I thought he would be.
I suppose this is to be expected while playing a non-default race, but it still cracked me up a bit. 

Anyone else got some similar encounters to share?  I also recall a human once telling me about how he killed his daughter, and that the killer would be brought to justice, or something along those lines.

No joke, Dark gnomes are the scourge of the DF multiverse.

They are the reason the HFS are hidden.

Is it just a random joke or do you have a proper explanation? :) What if there were NO dark gnomes, why should HFS be NOT hidden?

The joke is that the HFS are hiding from the Dark gnomes. :D

Because they don't want to share their Hellbooze?

Actually that's really funny. On second thought, demons can't wipe the floor with a fortress of 200 angry prepared dwarves anymore, so a certain number of dark gnomes could be dangerous to them.

 It is unfortunate that those strings of speech are not modifiable. We could set custom strings for these things. As of yet custom text is only for taunts.

 Still, Dark Gnomes are terrifying.

I'd figure the demon is mocking you by making a little show of whispering in your ear about how evil the Gnomes are.

Like a sarcastic joke. After all, the only thing stronger then a demon's fire ball attack, is his sense of irony.
