Righto, think we've gotten our scumbucket... so I'll go ahead and object to the extension, if no one else minds?  I don't want to waste time sitting around while we wait for the deadline to lynch Org for us.

(Sidenote, that's not an official extension objection)

Wow Org, that defense stuns me with its brilliance and intricacy! You must be town!

No, wait, you're still scum.

I'll let the others chime in with their objections to a day extension if they want to talk; I've spoken, they haven't.

While I find Org being Org.  This pisses me off.

I object to the day extension as well.

Unvote Jackrabbit.

Vote Org.

At least you didn't make a point of OMGUSing, but here's my logic:

Every time there's a town magistrate, especially one who can self-pardon, they try to clear themselves by self-pardoning.

Every time someone can pardon, they offer to to "confirm" themselves, even if the pardoning isn't a town-only power.

Every time someone does that, the town doesn't lynch them.

I think a scum partner of yours, smarter than you, had you fakeclaim a pardoning role offering to become a confirmed townie; we would point out that doesn't work and not lynch you.

Once you started to pick up votes for it, you realized your scumbuddy's plan had backfired and tried to back out.

So yeah, nice try, but I'm not falling for it unless you can provide a good reason that isn't the case.

Is what you're saying that Org was pushed to pretend he had a role he didn't to gain the trust of the town? I'm still not familiar with the lingo and some of the rules. I might be getting it wrong.

Extension

I'm probably going to go back to voting Org, as your reasoning is sound, if confusing to a newbie like me.

Or that even if he has that role, it doesn't mean that he's town.

All right, here's the basic principle:

In several games, namely Pirate Mafia and DF Mafia, there was a town-only role that could prevent someone's lynch - their own or anyone else's.

Inevitably, this person would claim, prevent a lynch, and become a confirmed townie.

More recently, roles with that power that WERE NOT guaranteed to be pro-town have been in games; people have tried the same thing out of habit only for it to be pointed out that this doesn't work.

Inevitably, this person IS NOT LYNCHED.

I think one of Org's scum partners suggested Org try this so that Org could avoid suspicion; it puts a low-value player at risk for a potentially substantial reward.

Ah, so I translated right?

Vote Org.

He certainly seems like a liability and if he can block the lynch and is town, no harm done.

There's a chance he's a scum-magistrate (magistrate is the general rolename for lynch-preventing roles).

If he is, though, he's either one-shot or he's going to end up on the right end of a viging.

Org unvoted himself, though it wasn't in red.

Which means it doesn't count.

Like everyone else recently; i'm sticking to the vote rules pretty carefully. I might let the occasional unvote slip by, but if it's not in red, i'm not counting it.

Whoah, I lurked for like two days and nothing happened. This is a strange mafia game. Usually, by this time there is a large amount of WoTs and lots of wine, but this is kind of stale. Org, whether town or scum is at the moment being unhelpful, and the idea that he might be being led by a scum partner is a probable one.

Unvote day extension

There's no point anymore. I feel that Org is doomed, unless he can stop a lynch.

The big floating vote board thing lets out a stream of brightly coloured fireworks. The votes are in, Org is to be lynched!

Org marches smartly up the steps to the gallows and triumphantly chortles at you, laughing as he claims that this entire farce is futile, for he cannot be lynched!

A two-foot drop promptly disproves this statement, and Org dangles around on the end of the noose looking like an idiot. Without warning, he explodes, leaving behind a dossier of information, through which it is revealed that Org was secretly Wayward Vagabond!

You are WAYWARD VAGABOND

Quote from: Wayward Vagabond
You are Wayward Vagabond, the MAYOR OF CANTOWN, your Mayoral position grants you the ability to pardon someone and nullify their lynch. But you’re not just any Mayor, oh no, you’re the MAYOR OF CANTOWN, your authority is so complete that you don’t even need to tell anyone what you’re doing, except the mod of course. Not only that, but you can retroactively undo someone’s lynch!

At any time during the day or night, you may place a MAYORAL PARDON upon a player, if that player was lynched yesterday, or gets lynched today, they will miraculously spring back to life as if nothing had ever happened. You may place a MAYORAL PARDON in the thread, or PM it to the mod. If you pardon a player in the night they return to life in the morning, provided you are still alive at that point in time.

You are also part of the TOWN. You win when only townies remain alive.

Oddly, you all realise that Org could, in fact, have prevented his lynch, if only he'd thought to use his day action to give himself a MAYORAL PARDON! Unfortunately it appears to have slipped his mind that he needs to actually use his powers, rather than merely bragging about them. Disaster! Not only has a townie been lynched, but you lynched the MAYOR!

This is not a good way to begin!

It is now Night, please do not post in the thread unless i've given you permission. Send in your night actions to me via PM. Night will end when all actions are in and i run out of people to poke.
