I think doodles are awesome and it's awesome to post them with the mod.
Also, I'm totally out of the loop with Touhou because I don't know who that is.
Guess I can explain her to you.
She's Seiga Kaku. A Hermit who practices the religion of Taoism. She makes her apperance in Touhou 13: Ten Desires as the stage 4 boss. She's probably very interesting in terms of both her character and how she behaves in the game.
The fun part about alot of the characters in 10D are that most of them from stage 4 and beyond are based after characters from old Chinese stories or historical figures that centered around Taoism. Seiga herself is based after the main heroine from "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio Volume 7"
Most of her early story is based upon the story. She basiclly lived a normal life till her father ran off to pursue Taoism. Eventually Seiga began to develop an interest in what her Father did and wanted to pursue it and planed to become a hermit. But like the story she would fall in love with a man and married him. (Which means she's one of the very few Touhou characters that was formerly married) However, she would become depressed living her married life and after 8 years she made a decision to secretly fake her death so that she could cast herself away from her married life and pursue becoming a hermit and learn more about Taoism
After many countless years she would develop her own abilities as a hermit, but she would become feared by the public thus wasn't accept by the heavens thus she became known as a "Wicked Hermit" as her main title she is given in game.
While not explained in detail, chance are, it's because 1. Her ability to pass through walls (which I'll explain later) or 2. She couldn't really give up pursuing her father's dreams thus couldn't surrender all her earthly desires, and dumping her own family to fulfill her own ambitions, thus couldn't join the heavens.
Needless to say, she went looking for a place to spread the religion of Taoism which she didn't have to deal with other hermit. Her destination: Japan. So when she arrived there, she learned about how Buddhism and Shinto were the major religions there and were in a bit of a power struggle at the time. She saw this as a door of oprotunity to introduce Taoism to Japan, but she needed someone to help her do the job. Someone who was a respected figure thought of as a "Saintly figure" to do the job.
Thus she met up with Tayosatomimi no Miko (who is the historic equivalent of Prince Shutoku and stage 6 final boss of 10D). And convinced her to look into the religion of Taoism which she agreed to. Thus the two hatched a plan to teach Buddhism as a staple to make sure no nations could gain any power (since it was a peace-loving religon) while she worked in secret to spread Taoism to the right people.
Later on Miko would convince Sago no Tojiko and Futo no Mononobe (Who were Prince Shutoku's lover and friend respectively in that order and also stage 5 mid boss and stage 5 boss in 10D in said order) into pursing the art of Taoism and eventually they would conduct the great plan: To become a Shikansen (a low level immortal that manages to fake their death in order to avoid aging which is kinda what Seiga did) In order to achive this, they had to entomb themselves within a mausoleum. Course Miko convinces Futo to be the test subject and after seeing the Futo was successful Miko decided to do the same. Tojiko decined and eventually became a spirit in time...
During the time while Futo and Miko were entombed. Seiga set up defenses to protect the Mausoleum by practicing the dark arts and resurrecting corpses in the form of Jiyangshi. There's one corpse she became rather attached to who we would later know her as Miyako Yoshika (stage 3 boss and Seiga's assist in stage 4); a Jiyangshi with a rather ravenous appetite.
The event of Ten Desires wouldn't begin until... Byakuren and her crew set up their Temple.... directly above the Mausoleum that Futo and Miko were sleeping within. Thus awaking them from thier long sleep.
Now let's talk about Seiga here since she's important both in subject and Suika Fortress in general.
First off Seiga specializes in the abilty to "pass through walls"
In game this doesn't happen at all. But when you get to the Ending (Reimu's ending) you get to her ability in effect. More or less Seiga uses the chisle hairpin that she keeps in her hair as a tool to help her pass through walls.
Course the way the ending captures it her method of "wall passing" could count as "braking and entering" as she makes giant holes in the wall allowing her to get through ( which she does to get into Reimu's Shrine) whether it's magic or just brute force wall hacking is unknown.
Second, her specialization in calling forth Jiyangshi and resurrecting them. This is in fact an in game feature. Seiga is unique as a boss because she hides behind Yoshika and let's Yoshika take all the hits for her. Only when Yoshika falls will she become vulnerable and can be hit. Making her a rather fun boss fight. And during when Yoshika is down, she will attempt to resurrect her.
Course I recommend reading this for better info
http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Seiga_KakuNow what's Seiga going to have in all of this with Suika Fortress? She's going to be my attempt to make a stand alone unique necromancer.Just like how I was able to make most of the basic touhou youkais back in previous updattes, my goal is to make her a one of a kind character. Rare, but possible to confront.
The goals I have in mind to do with Seiga will be:
1. Attempt to make Seiga a stand alone necromancer (as in only she and she alone can be this: in her case, her title will be "Wicked Hermit" also have her own sprite)
2. Attempt to make Seiga be able to summon Jiyangshi from corpses.
3. Attempt to special summon Yoshika as a possible Jiyangshi (with her own sprite)
4."Pass walls" via building destroyer
5. (Debating about this) Pass immortality secrets to other creating Shikansen out of standard mortals ( have to see if this is possible and achivable)
And also yes, this means I'm considering adding Yoshika in as another member of the 10D Touhous. Her and Seiga go hand in hand like salt and pepper.
Course I'm not going to talk about her yet. I already said more than enough. But yeah until I finish my illustrations of Seiga and Yoshika up. Update will be a bit slow. I think it'll be about another week or two before I get anywhere.
Course with the information I provided you. Maybe you can help me with giving me directions and/or leads on where to go since what I mentioned I want to do with Seiga will be indeed an big task at hand since I'll be messing with tags and interactions to "hopfully" achieve this.
