Listening to Nevermore, would I be right at calling them moldic metal? As I stated earlyer I fail at classing metal.

If anyone still actually reads this thread...

First, listen to Inside the Fire (Disturbed).
Second, listen to this youtube interview. A bit boring, but worth it.
Third, listen to the song again, this time with lyrics.

I liked the band before, now I actually understand some of the lyrics and know how good they are, I practically worship them.

Next in line are Black Sabbath/Heaven and Hell, Trivium and In Flames. You might find Trivium not that great, but it's them who got me into metal in the first place.

Oh, and I listen to Eminem, the Levellers and various other non-metal music as well.

I like Disturbed, especially since they went to thinly-veiled political rage. I like strange things, sometimes.

Disturbed did a cover of the only Phil Collins song I can listen to (and it's a good song and everyone loves the video).  I'm not sure if the Disturbed guys completely twigged to the very sad irony of re-upping a protest song that includes the line "my generation will set it right" exactly 20 years later.  If they did, they didn't mention it.

The Disturbed video is also good, in a 90's cartoon way, although it kinda missed the point of the whole thing.  I'd link to it, but apparently YouTube can't show it anymore.

I like some Disturbed songs, namely Prayer, Land of Confusion and Indestructible.

The rest of the songs don't really take my fancy.

On a related note to metal, anyone like those old arcade synth music? Stuff on old arcade games. Like the bits on DOOM RL

Land of Confusion is a cover, as far as I know, and it's a pretty good song. Prayer is also nice.

I kinda liked Stricken and Ten Thousand Fists... and Sons of Plunder.

They're usually referred to as MIDI music, although that's not always technically accurate.  But yeah, I loves me some oldschool chiptunes, and even listen to on occasion.  And to segue this back into metal, I love remixes and renditions of chiptunes maybe a little more.  Not the default, techno-electronic "remix" remixes necessarily, but especially when classic video game is turned into something like a real song.  Like, say, Project Chaos, for some (partly synthesized) mettahl.
