Anyone else find it interesting that a self-conscious dwarf made a thong of all things and named it after himself?

Everybody has a part of them that nobody knows about ;)

Yikes, the Orcs have a nasty language.  Traditional foreplay would be right out for them; how would they ever "say my name" for one another?  No wonder Ocrs are always so bloodthirsty and violent, they're getting sub-par action.

^True, I guess even the most rugged of dwarves may like to feel pretty on occasion.

Totally off-topic... but it's my thread, after all ;D ... I just caught an Alligator in a Cage Trap. Investigating the RAWs, I learned that it has both [PET_EXOTIC] and [MOUNT_EXOTIC] tags. I'm trying to trap a mate for it now.

When my Dungeon Master arrives, can I train it as a mount for one of my Champions? Now THAT would be cool... riding into battle on an Alligator!

mounts for dwarves don't work yet. I've heard that it will for the next DF release.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

It'll be weirder if whoever ends up wearing it ... is one of his kids. :)

Clearly it's a phylactery. Don't bother giving that dwarf a tomb.

Seems like a rather odd place to wear a phylactery... don't they usually go on the other end?

Now I'm getting engravings of Dodok Sazirlokum creating Dodok Sazirlokum.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

... If I had known that was going to happen, I would have cross-trained him as an Engraver... so that I could end up with:

Dodok Sazirlokum, a masterful engraving of the Dwarf Dodok Sazirlokum holding up the Artifact thong Dodok Sazirlokum; engraved by Dodok Sazirlokum.

"Dodok", by the way, means "clasp" or "clasped", while "Lokum" means "spear"... so his artifact jock-strap seems to be named "Clasp my Spear"!

EDIT: The temporary save is here, by the way:

You need to make said elf leather into the most amazing work of art.  Embed it with every kind of gem you have, stud it with metals, and sew images into it.  Erect a shrine outside your fort with that in the center.  Let the elves know that you view their very skin as naught more but a medium for your dwarves to work on.

Maybe it's like a sock puppet for Dodok? Trances are closely linked to insanity, so maybe... oh god. It's a thong. that's not gonna be a hand puppet...!

Wow.....in two pages we've gone from talking about artifacts that are engraved with themselves to dwarven schlongs.

I apologize. My roommates have been watching a lot of South Park recently.

These are dwarves we're talking about. They'll happily wrestle goblins while holding a helmet and a crossbow in one hand and three socks in the other.
