Trap/weapon modding?

Hi, i'm new here. I was just wondering if you could add more than one damage type to a trap and not have your computer implode. It just seems kind of odd that a big spiked ball doesnt do bludgeoning damage as well as piercing...

Sadly, no.  It will use the last damage tag listed in the weapon's entry if you try.

Ok, thanks for the help :). Another thing, can i set a trap to do freezing or burn damage?

Yes.  Any damage type the game supports can be applied to any weapon.

damn... now i cant figure out how to build the trap in-game... do i need to do something besides mod the items file?

entity_default in the raws. You will also need to regen to get them to show up.

Wait. Does this mean you can make spears of fire which set your invaders into flames?
Or a warhammer of frost, freezing the enemy in his/her path?

It's just a TYPE of damage, and there's a topic on HEAT/BURN/COLD damage on this page which explain that this has nothing to do with a real fire or temperature. Still it's pretty deadly. And fun.

You can make a "heat" type trap components which simulate furnaces or fire torches and watch how your invaders' are damaged by it. I may be mistaken, but these kinds of damage tend to damage internal organs quite nicely, causing a lot of pain.
