Smelter reation coal issues
« on: November 07, 2009, 12:53:41 pm »

Inspired by the Human Form topic, I'll have a go at HUMAN FORTRESS too.
Now, I'd like too the "Wood = 5 Planks" smelter reaction. I get how to mod it in, but will it require refined fuel, and is it possible to do without, barring magma?

Now, if we could only mod Giant War Eagles to carry crossbows, we could do strafing runs on the elves who sold the eagles to us in the first place.

Leave out the [FUEL] statement.

Oh. Thanks then!

Also, someone's got any other things that must be modded to properly play humans?

Out of curiosity, is it only smelters that can have stuff added? Seems like logs -> planks would make more sense at a carpenter's workshop.

That would be as deadly to the wielder as to anyone else!  You'd sever your own arm at the first swing!  It's perfect!

In the current version, only smelters can have modded tasks.

In the next version, however, a handful of other workshops (tannery and kitchen come to mind) will be moddable in this way, and we'll also be able to make custom workshops.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Uh... finally getting back on this.

Not sure where to add 'planks', theoretically being stone, I put them into matgloss stone layer with no occurence tags.

Right now, I've got this:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Is that correct?

Also, which colour or tile or whatever is used by Mike Mayday (40d) to represent oaken constructions?

For humans, if you want to one day build pumps you will have to add the ability to build Enormous Corkscrews (and all the other trap components if you wish). You may also wish to add [STRAND_EXTRACTOR] to the human file if you have adamantine.
