Sif was the god of Victory.

Most gods were related you'll find (Odin wasn't named the All Father for nothin') and rarely were their attributes related beyond "We control and maintain creation against the big bads" (either giants, demons, satin, titans, etc.etc.)

Yes he was but Loki killing him started ragnarok. I think the only ones that survived that was odin's sons.

Baldr had prophetic dreams about dying so his mom (Frigga) made everything swear to not harm him, everything except holly.  The other Norse Gods had a fun time throwing stuff at him, because they would never hit/hurt him.  Loki found out that holly could hurt him and told Hod, who was blind, to throw/shoot it a Baldr.  Loki guided the arrow and killed Baldr.  A total jerk move.

It gets worse.  Frigga managed to talk Hel (Goddess of the Underworld) into letting Baldr go, if everything/everybody would weep for him.  Everybody did except for a certain hag in a cave.  This hag was Loki in disguise.  So, Baldr stays in the underworld until Ragnorak.

The Norse Gods did find Loki.  They bound him in a cave and put a serpent above him to drip venom on him.  His wife catchs the venom in a cup and whenever she turns away to pour the venom out, some of the snake's venom drips on Loki and causes earthquakes.

Also, keep in mind that Loki is Odin's blood-brother.  He was a pretty decent guy, to the Norse Gods at least ,prior to this.  He help them build a huge wall (this caused him to give birth to Sleipnir, an 8-legged horse), helped Thor retrieve his hammer, and many other things.

Moral of the story: somebody needs to figure out how to make gold wigs at a craftsdwarf workshop.

What...?

I don't, Sif does.

Feel free to explain the benefits of

to the Aesir, I'm sure they'll be interested.

That would be as deadly to the wielder as to anyone else!  You'd sever your own arm at the first swing!  It's perfect!

Better idea. We need to figure out how the gold grew on her head, then make our dwarves grow golden beards.

THat should be easy after the next release, if it tracks beard colors there's no reason we couldn't mod that so that some beards are made of gold.

I was looking around in Legends mode and found this.

Loki also mothered Sleipnir, the eight-legged horse.

That's right, mothered.

Excellent. I cackled like a psycho after reading that.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

In my current fortress, she exists:
Nolthag the Mangy Lust of Blisters is associated with Diseases and Blight.

Dwarfs worship funny things.

I like to call that particular event "The Great Land Seahorse Incident".
