Wordforge - Easy to use Language Generation
« on: November 06, 2009, 04:22:39 pm »

Beta version.

Download from dffd here:
http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=1563

Dffd has been a mite unpredictable of late, so if anyone has a suggestion for a better file hosting service I'm all ears. Er, eyes.

The program runs from a command line (win32) and can take your input as to some syllable forms to include in the language.

The languages it generates are still fairly hit and miss in my opinion, but I might not have much time to work on it for awhile and decided to send it out for the initial drubbing.

Planned Feature List for version 1.0:
-Additional rules to apply including
--variable average word length
--gutteral and flowing languages
-User-specified favorite letters
-User-specified disliked letters

If you have suggestions for the initial release version, throw up out there. No promises, naturally. :)

Furthermore, the program is written assuming you won't be trying to screw it up. Error handling and bug-checking are, for the beta version, non-existent.

Wait wait wait. No Perl? Any language? Just 'run exe, set-up the things' and voila?

*downloads to check*

EDIT: Strange. Windows vomits on me with a "configuration issues" and says I should "re-install the application". Hmm...

DFFD isn't working at the moment, I'll have to remember to check this later and see if it's less clunky than the other language generator.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Written in c++. I checked it on three computers (one of which does not to my knowledge contain any c++ compilers or even the language itself). Looks like I need to do some more checking.

The exe was created with Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition.

I'm also getting a side-by-side configuration error on Windows 7.

Darn Visual C++. Looks like it deployed wrong - everyone should probably ignore this topic until I fix that tiny detail...
