The <insert name of award here> are an annual award given for outstanding performance in Mafia games. They are nominated by other players, and voted on by a small panel of judges to be determined (there ARE alternatives for this).  We will do once each year but this, being the first award will include the few games occurring in 2008.

To nominate someone specify the nomination and provide a link to the the post, or game you're referring to.  You MUST present proof/give a reason for each nomination.

Nominations will go on for Nov/Dec an we will set dates for the reviews and decisions.

Here goes the possible nominations.  If you want to remove one or add your own, submit the request and the link.  Think if it belongs to another existing nomination or if it's just jest for the joke awards.

I advice you to go skim a bit through the mafia board before nominating...  Don't forget old games you played.

Also, we need a name for the awards!  Let's be original but clearly express our idiosyncrasy.

Remember this is not a popularity contest.  It's just a place to point the highlights of mafia games for future reference.  It's a place to have fun too with the joke awards.

For the name, go with the Elves or Elfs. Elfies if necessary. The elves were the Mafia in the DF Mafias, which were the first series of Mafia games here, I think. Also because it's in line with DF, which is the big thing here.
Or go with the Libbies (Liberals doesn't have as much of a ring to it). Because the 2nd big thing here is LCS.
Or the Dopps. For very obvious reasons.

Tootin' a horn here, but myself in Para 4 Take 2. I had the opportunity to ruin the game (somewhat, at least) by telling my scum buddies who the Medium was, as I had found out due to Meph reusing the Dead chat of the original Para 4, which I had been the Medium of and therefore had the link to. The game would have been radically different had I "cheated". For more, reference the earlier parts of the Dopp Chat here.

Best Performance by an Individual (Pro-town): ToonyMan, easily. Other players try to find scum. Town-ToonyMan MURDERS scum. For the specific instance, his Paranormal 9 game takes the cake.

Most Reputed Mafia Catcher: Webadict, by far.

Most Influential Player: Hmm... Webadict, I guess, he got his own setup (in which he wasn't the moderator, so shut up ToonyMan)

Most Improved Player: Dakarian, I would say.

Best Setup: I almost want to say KWN mafia, but instead, I'll say the various Vote Mafias, they were a lot of fun. If I had to pick one, I'd say Vote Mafia 2. It had a good balance of power voters, scum, and townies.

Best Role: I'm going to toot my own horn and say the Alien Scientist from Paranormal. Sure, I made it, but what's that got to do with anything?

Craziest Role: That umm.... thing we lynched d1 in BYOR-Web. Then again, I have a feeling we're going to see more crazy shit from both BYOR's, that's for sure. We'll just have to wait for them to end.

Top Wall of Poster: Dakarian.

Funniest to Kill: ToonyMan, if you do it n1. It's easier to brush him off when he's dead than when he's alive, and that's funny.

I think we should give an award for "Lurker of the Year", and that would be Org, by a long shot.
