Ah Crapola

Ok. Here's the situation.

Upper level: personal suites for starting seven
Ground level: entrance, barracks, drawbridges, trade depot, trading goods
B1: dining hall, food stockpiles
B2: output stockpiles
B3: workshops
B4: input stockpiles
B5: housing
B6: nobles

now comes the fun part. I hit the fun stuff when my miners dug out last few stones in nobles quarters. No military. No traps. And no nobles to use as cannon fodder.

Traps wouldn't help anyway. Did you break into the actual funhouse, or did you just find a seam of funonite ore? If the former, wall it up again as soon as you can. If the latter, just be careful what you dig out and work on building up your military.

Funhouse isn't open yet. been thinking about starting over from initial save, so I can get my fortress about ready and then dig into that layer again. And I also don't want a king yet

Don't worry about it! If all you've done is strike the pretty blue stones you are still in the clear. You need to dig deeper to let out the clowns.

The clowns wont come until you hit their car. Congrats on getting Funonite without the clowns!

Closing the clown car after it's been opened will kill your FPS.  All the clowns keep trying to path out but can't.  Oh well.  Start building chests for your king cause he's gonna get pissed and go crazy if he doesn't get them when he comes to stay.

Just make the king's room in the middle of you funorrite mine.  He will be very happy with valuable floor and walls.  But as was said - he likes his chests.
