I renamed my starting commander Lieutenant Bandar, as starting commaders are often thrown into chancy battles he might catch a bad break before long, but I hope he makes it long enough to face off with Mictlan.

Anyone chime in with a good tutorial on making a video for youtube from some whatever game?  If we get into any good throwdowns it would be fun for our own posterity and those following the thread to see some A/V of the awesomeness of Dom3.  Sure its a steep price tag for the game, those sexy models don't pose with angry come get some faces for free, but never was more the case of you get what you pay for.  Lotta content in this sucker.  Likewise Dwarf Fortress, I've contributed more than the cost of Dom3 and I get a great forum, a great game, great devlogs and a great feeling of moral righteousness.

Hurray for B12!

Praise Sacred Mount Kailasa!

"Dag is a famous person and cannot be renamed"
"A prophet cannot be renamed"
So much for giving them heroes some properly heavy-metal stylized names.

You have to get them fast.  If they join the hall of fame or become a prophet you can't rename them.

Hey guys, I'm having a strange issue. My commanders aren't showing up so I can't move them. Anyone know why this would happen and how I could fix it?

EDIT: I would just like to specify that my commanders exist, there is just no panel for me to access them.

Hmmm, you've got the correct province selected?  And there is map filter to hide units on the map itself, but I think what you are describing is a lack of a GUI element, the left side commander menu.

What changed since you played last?  Do the other menus still display properly?

I used to have a problem with dissapearing GUI on my old laptop. Simply restarting the game was sufficient to fix the problem, at least for a short while before it dissapeared again.

I've had that happen in the past. Very consistently every time I'd do "arrange armies" on a certain province, the commander GUI would vanish. Saving and reloading would indeed get around it, though it was rather annoying to have that step added every time I wanted to screw with army ordering.

Bunch of incompletely documented keyboard shortcuts in this game.  The < and > keys resize the commander icons.  Not to the point of disappearing, but maybe attempting to resize them will remind your Dom3 to the display them.

This is exactly the problem I'm having. In my case reloading wasn't enough to fix it, but restarting the program itself worked. Did this happen to you in several games, or was is it just a rare occurrence? I can foresee it being a pain in the posterior as it is afflicting my capital.

That's the whole interface though, I'm having the same problem and it isn't the whole thing, just the commanders panel.

Hinnom scholars are hard at work trying to discover the meaning of the Mitclan phrase "holla back girl". A plan is in the works to send Hinnom's most acclaimed cultural anthroplogist Raka (whose most recent work includes his treatise on hoburg culture entitled: "Hoburg the other other white meat") to live with the Mitclan people and to learn their local dialect.
