If the AI Vanheim win, it's technically my win, right?

Considering the geography of the map as it stands, I do see one thing I could do to cripple the Vannish threat. However, I don't think my messengers would be able to handle the sudden increase in deliveries of gifts and well-wishings I'd be subjected to if I were to cast Wrath of the Sea, so I suppose I'll have to go for a tactical approach rather than a strategic one.

Yes indeed, those gifts from grateful third parties could literally be your doom.

edit: Onund, you dumbass. Why didn't you bless yourself?(I thought that the Furies attacked only blood mages? I don't remember Onund hurting any women... unless he's a wife beater)
Stallos had seen another glorious battle. Or more like a slaughter. In other words, nothing out of ordinary.

It's not entirely clear how focused the Erinyes are. There's a rambling thread on the Shrapnel forum that seems to conclude "Well, they only attack blood mages, or people who've killed slaves, except when they kill other people too." Very helpful.

If it were to track any commanders who'd killed females, I *might* have a commander or two vulnerable... and I'm pretty sure I can think of a Vannish boltthrower or two who has a visit in their future. Well, they might have blood magic on them anyway, so killing one of my scaly beauties wouldn't be necessary for them to meet their fate. But still.

Oh, well. They won't last long anyway. My skratti killed one already, and if not for that silly disregard for the benefit of bless, Onund would've most likely killed the second one.

Oh, 'cmon, slMagnavox. I know it's hard to have a great time playing in the situation you're in, and I appreciate you still hanging there and putting up a great fight, but could we get a tid bit faster turn submission from you than the full 72 hours? At least now you don't have that much to do every turn.

Heh, got some exciting planned you can't wait to see resolve, huh?

Sorry though, there is so much clicking to script an army that just gets stepped on by giants.  Damn that Stallos fight, I should've spent more time clicking around in the army scripts for that one.  Still takes 30-60 minutes to play a turn even when I do it poorly.  Like I told Albright, I need the time pressure to get over the anxiety.

Instead of singling me out, why not try and reach a consensus about going back to 48h hosting?

I'm fine with going back to 48h, just so long as I'm not gonna have to do extensions.

In theory I have done so, though the game page doesn't reflect the change and the current hosting interval wouldn't be affected in any case. I could chop 24h off of it if we wanted to up the pressure and get onto the 48h sooner rather than later.

My turn is almost ready to submit and has been for about a day. I'm just waffling and messing about with approximate probable combat simulations before making a final decision on how much I want to make Vannheim pay for their new territory. I didn't give them any last turn, and I'm not sure I need to this turn. The question is do I really need those border armies, or should I just offer them up as blood sacrifices to Cheeetar like so many before them?

I've just found out(on the wiki) that wearing a cat charm makes seduction more likely(it wasn't that hard to figure, Palazzo, you dumbass). And of course I had this one charm for like twenty months now, not knowing what to do with the crap...
Think of Mimi. Think of all the broken relationships, think of all the unnecessary pain she had endured. Think of how a sensitive and craving for love creature got disilusioned and jaded. The only guy she managed to pick up was a thirty-something priest. You can't get much blander than that. And perhaps, if not for my unforgivable stupidity, she would've had more luck with that Rudra last month. Makes me wanna cry.

69 turns in and we get our first deathmatch. Hmm, hmm, hmm. Wonder if Vannheim is going to go the fairly common AI route and send their pretender, hehehe...

(My only real regret is that Togrul the Chosen died at the fall of Purple Cliff, so Xi Mi's cruel caprice to send him in either lade heavy with cursed items or possibly naked could never be realized.)

(You know, I should have had him break siege and retreat to get him out of the fort. Then I could have slapped a ring of regeneration on his diseased carcass. The mage-turn and 7 or 8 emeralds would have been well worth being able to send an affliction-riddled gibbering, broken shamble into a death match 20 or 25 turns later...)

On behalf of the Council of Kings, allow the record to show that in spite of the past year's innumerable provocations, insults, and constant heaping of blame for Kailasan cantrips at the feet of the Council, even the frozen minds of a Neifel should be able to recognize when they finally actually attract the sorcerous ire of the Atlantian people. We do hope this lesson was not too subtle.

Your ignoble imperialism, your brash bullying of the Atlantian nation, your foul blasphemies, and your preying upon the helpless daughters of the terrestrial primates has gone on too long. Balance will be restored.

Your righteous servant before the Sword,
Cax Kulu
Speaker of the Council of Kings
