Due to (popular?) demand, round 2 of Parallel World Mafia is now accepting passengers.
If you missed the first one, here is the premise:
2 worlds running in perfect sync. 2 games with matching day and night cycles.
You have the option to play in one or both. If you play in one, the game is, more or less, similar to a basic game with a focus on roles.
If you play in both, then you shall have powers within both worlds. A cop in one world can inspect someone in the other world. A redirecter can move a kill in one world and kill someone in another world. You might be mafia in one world or town in another, or you may have powers in both worlds and be able to wield both for your own greedy purposes. However, if you choose this path, you must watch both worlds, for to win you MUST win in both.
If you are a vanilla in both worlds, you get the power to doublevote.
A few changes will kick in from the last game:
1. mafia can only kill in the same world so long as that world is active. If you are mafia in world A, you can't choose to kill in world B. This rule ends if the mafia wins in one of the worlds: after that, they can do what they wish with their kill.
2. mafia cannot kill and perform their power at the same time. So if you are a Mafia Cop in one world, you can inspect OR kill. Now if you are a Mafia in one world and a Cop in a different world, you can do both.
3. A Single (person who plays in only one world) who becomes a Vanilla will have something...special given to them.
4. Multiple roles within the same world can exist.
Suggested roles:
Vanilla: You hold no special power. However, if a Parallel is a Vanilla in both worlds, they may Doublevote by refusing to vote in one world while voting in another. If you are a Single Vanilla Town then details will be supplied to your PM.
Cop: Each night, you may investigate one player. You will then be told if they are mafia or town.
Doctor: Each night, you may protect one player. That player will not be killed that night.
Rolecop: Each night, you may investigate one player. You will then be told their role. If you are a Single, you may investigate a Parallel's other worldly role.
Roleblocker: Each night, you may block one player. That player will be unable to use their power for that night.
Redirecter: Each night, you may redirect the power of one player to another player. To redirect, you choose the one using the power and the one you wish to target. You cannot redirect the power to the same person within the same world (you can redirect Sameperson-Alpha to Sameperson-Beta, but not Sameperson-Alpha to Sameperson-Alpha). You may redirect a power across worlds if you are a Parallel.
Bus Driver: Each night, you may choose two people. Those people will switch places, causing any effect on one to, instead, effect the other. You may not target yourself. Singles may not switch with other worlds. If targeting a Parallel, specify the world they exist in. (yes, you may Switch Sameperson-Alpha with Sameperson-Beta)
Untouchable/Royalty: A rare role, only held by townspeople and can be held on top of a power role. If a Royalty is killed, the next day phase of BOTH worlds will be skipped. Untouchables, in contrast, will skip the next night phase. Note that if one exists, the other must exist somewhere in either world.
Further roles may be considered, though roles with random effects and killing roles will not be accepted.
When signing up, please specify if you wish to play in one world or two (if one, you can ask for a specific world or just let the host decide)
Lastly, I'm accepting ideas on what to name each world. Please post your suggestions and vote for the ones you like. The two top picks will become the names of world 1 and 2
